Have you ever had one of those days when you just feel like something is missing? ? something just doesn't feel right? like you should be doing something but you can't remember what? Well, I had one of those days recently? my computer was in the shop for a minor repair. Ahhhhh! What was I going to do? Ok, so I planned to take my computer in for the repair. Then I would go shopping for my daughter's birthday present and have lunch with my husband. But, that still left half a day. No problem.

That was taken care of as my phone continued to ring even without my computer there. But, the whole time I felt like something was missing. Why are we so dependent on our computers? Why do our routines feel completely out of whack if we don't have our trusty keyboard and mouse? In today's high tech society, a computer is a common site in most homes and nearly all businesses. Everyone and his brother has access to these electronic lifelines and most depend on them to help run their lives smoothly. For any entrepreneur who relies on the virtual work for business, when our computers are unavailable, we can be at a loss as to what we can do. So, the following is just a few ideas of what we can do during the time that you would normally be on your computer.

1.	Get out of your office! And, if your office is in the house, get out of the house. Take advantage of the time to separate yourself from your work. It may be hard to leave work behind but, for entrepreneurs who generally are dealing with all the aspects of keeping a business running smoothly, a few hours away from the office can help recharge the batteries. 2.	Run some errands. Not only will this help by getting you out of your office but you can get some of those odd jobs done that have been sitting on the back burner. 3.	Spend some quality time with your family.

Now is the time to get out with your partner and/or kids, if they are not at work or at school. Go for a walk or bike ride; have a swim; or make a picnic. Relax & enjoy the company of your loved ones. 4.	Clean up your office. Now is the perfect time to organize all the piles of paper on your desk and file them away. You never know what you will find under there and how great it will be to see the nice wood that your desk is made of again.

5.	Write an article. Wild guess when I wrote this article? You guessed it? I sat in my comfortable rocking chair, watched my daughter play, and jotted down my thoughts.6.	Catch up on phone calls. You know all those quotations that you have been sending out? Now is the time to follow-up on them. Or, have you been wanting to contact someone just because? Without the distraction of your "you have mail" dinger going off, make that call.7.	Give your home a little spring clean. Those dust bunnies have been around long enough. It's time to send them packing. Cleaning cannot only separate you from your daily work routine, the end result is great! Until the kids get back home.8.	Do something nice for yourself.

Have a long soak in the tub but keep that phone away from the edge of the tub. This may be hard to do because we always want to be there for our clients if they call. But you deserve a break every once in a while to help recharge your batteries. These are just a few ideas to help you stay productive, in one form or another, while you are without your computer. But, one thing to remember if you are going to be unavailable for any length of time? advise your clients and contacts of your down time. Send an email to all of them advising them that you will be out of the office or just without a computer for a few days.

This way, should they happen to send an email to you for whatever reason, they will know why you didn't respond to them right away..

Online Crazy Deals http://www.onlinecrazydeals.com launched a new product line. Now offering mobile computing technology with refurbished laptops and accessories. When purchasing a new item like a car or a computer we expect it to be free of defects and perform to the highest standards. Most of the time this is true. We have always been told, "New is better".

Here's what new is "more expensive". Refurbished laptops have the same features and same performance of a new one, but without the new price.New laptops of course are the latest technology, but refurbished laptops are remanufactured by the original manufacturer and work just the same with the same technology as new notebook computers. Refurbished laptop computers are put through rigorous tests to make sure they meet the companies standards. IBM will not sell a ThinkPad unless it meets their standards. Dell Latitude, HP Pavilion, or Gateway reconditioned laptops all must be brought up to strict performance.

These corporations stake their reputations on all the products they sell.Refurbished laptops are given the term, "refurbished, or reconditioned", when a customer buys the product and keeps it for a few days and returns it. The laptop then must then be put through a series of tests and made sure it is in new condition. That's all it means.Laptops are just what the doctor ordered for mobile computing and convenience. They can be taken anywhere with mobile technology like Wi-Fi wireless internet, or wireless adapters so they can be taken throughout the house and office. Remanufactured notebooks fold up for easy storage, so it doesn't take up much space.

The refurbished laptops found at www.onlinecrazydeals.com also come with DVD and CD-RW options. The reconditioned notebook will have all the latest technology and meet the standards of a new one at a much lower price.

Buying remanufactured laptops is just letting someone else pay for the new sticker price.

A little bit of pre-knowledge can go a long way on an African safari trip. Here are ten indispensable tips that will improve your own safari experience greatly.1. Take the early morning drives on safari even thought that often means getting up while it's still dark. You'll be very glad you did because your wildlife sightings will improve. The animals are a lot more active in the early morning and late evening because it is cooler and the nocturnal species are either getting up or going to bed so your chances of spotting them are generally much better.

2. A safari is not only about the big game. Take enjoyment from the surroundings and all the wildlife you see because if you turn it into a "big five" tick list exercise you might be disappointed. There are a multitude of insects, birds and smaller creatures that can be just as interesting if you take the time to look and find out more.3. A pair of good quality binoculars is absolutely indispensable on a safari so make sure you take your own with.

Some safari companies do provide them but they might be a little worse for wear after a lot of use and it can be frustrating to have to pass them along to the next person when you actually still want to look at that lion stalking it's prey.4. Wear insect repellent in the evenings to ward of those pesky mosquitoes and make sure you leave as little skin exposed as possible by wearing long trousers, long sleeved shirts and socks to cover the ankles. During the day they are a lot less active so you don't have to worry about them then.5. Any good safari operator will have some form of medication available but you might consider taking some of your own with on a "just in case" basis: Anti malarial pills, anti-diarrhoea medicine, motion sickness medication if you suffer from this, mosquito repellent and sunscreen.6. If you are taking photos using film, remember to bring at least two rolls for each day that you will be on safari and bring spare batteries for your camera because they will go flat at the worst times and you don't want to miss those once in a lifetime photo opportunities because of that.

You should be able to recharge batteries in most safari areas. Electricity in Africa is 220 - 240V AC50HZ. 7. When it comes to lions, a lot of patience is called for because they spend most of their time during the day asleep. But if you watch them for awhile you might be rewarded by an impromptu hunt or the appearance of cubs from the undergrowth or a similar drama.

Patience is the watchword here.8. Night drives on safari are a great opportunity to see the nocturnal animals that you will never see during the day but remember that the powerful spotlight which illuminates the surrounding bush and the glowing eyes also attracts a lot of insects so you might think twice before volunteering to hold it. 9. Generally the dry season is a time when you will be much more successful at spotting game because the vegetation is sparse and the wildlife is forced to congregate in the areas where there is still surface water available.10. It's not uncommon for safari vehicles to break down because most of the roads are dirt tracks and the cars take a pounding every day.

Any company worth their salt should be carrying spares and the driver or guide should have some mechanical experience..

One of the most pleasant parties to plan has to be the baby shower. The mom-to-be gets so much attention and she can just sit back and enjoy all of the fuss. The key to creating this wonderful event is organization. Here's everything you need to make your upcoming baby shower as festive and memorable as possible!Consult, Consult, Consult! Because the parents-to-be may have more than one shower, it's a good idea to consult with the mommy-to-be. Before you send out invitations, sit down with the mom-to-be and ask her what she would like from this event.

What is her idea of a fun shower and who she would like to attend? Most people shouldn't be expected to attend several showers for the same parents, so find out what else is being planned. Let her know that you want her to feel comfortable and most of all, to have fun. What if you are having a surprise shower? Don't let that stop you from consulting! Talk to the dad-to-be to get ideas of a guest list and an appropriate time. You might even want to consult with other friends to be sure that everything works out smoothly. Again, consider the mom-to-be when having a shower.

You want her to feel special, have fun, and be comfortable. After consulting with the mom-to-be, or others, it is time to plan! The Theme of the DayThis is the fun part ? deciding what you are going to do and how you are going to do it! This can also be the overwhelming part if you have never planned a baby shower before or if you don't feel that you are the creative type. Luckily, you don't' have to have experience or creativity to throw a great baby shower. Some showers are simply a gathering of family and friends chatting, mom-to-be opening her gifts, and eating yummy food. Other showers are more elaborate with special games. If you are thinking of being more elaborate and having a theme, here are some great ideas to get you started:Consider inviting couples instead of just the ladies.

You can play fun games like who can diaper the baby doll the fastest and make it the men against the women. This shower is great for first-time-dads and helps them feel a part of things as the ?big day' nears.Does mom-to-be already have everything she needs for baby, but you still want to celebrate this special occasion? Why not throw a Mommy Shower? Instruct guests to bring gifts for mom herself (bath and beauty products, gift certificates, etc). You might also consider a "consumable shower" and have guests bring diapers, wipes, shampoo, and other items that run out!A recipe shower is a great idea. Instead of a card, ask guests to bring their favorite easy-to-make recipes for mom-to-be to use after the little one arrives. Or go one better and have the guests bring a dish ready to be frozen for the mom-to-be for those days when she is just too worn out to cook! Here's a fun shower that will help the guests determine what to bring as a gift.

In the invitations, assign each guest a random time of day and have them bring an appropriate gift. For example, blankets for naptime. Or assign each guest a different room of the house, like the bathroom, and have them bring an appropriate gift.Have guests bring something that was a favorite of theirs from their childhood for the new baby. Books, movies, security blanket and etc make great gifts with added special meaning.Have a birthday party! Get a birthday cake, streamers, party hats, and party games! Can you think of a better way to celebrate a birth?Once you set a date and make a guest list, and pick your theme, you will need to choose a location. It is perfectly fine to have the shower in your own home, but it can be anywhere with enough space.

Depending upon your theme, you may even choose a restaurant or an out of the way tearoom! As the Date NearsNow that the big decisions are over, you can take a deep breath. You are almost there! As the shower date approaches, however, you may again feel a bit of stress. Do you have everything? Have all the details been taken care of? Here is a great list to help you know the answers to those questions. Two To Three Weeks Before The Event:

Prepare and mail invitations with directions to event. Be sure to keep one for the baby book!
Place order for the cake if ordering from a bakery.
Choose and purchase decorations and party favors.
Purchase prizes for games.
One Week Before The Event:

Determine an accurate guest count.
Make follow-up calls, if necessary.
One Day Before The Event:

Purchase food and prepare platters and/or pick up any special food platters ordered.
Purchase beverages.
Make sure camera has film and/or video camera is loaded and has batteries, etc.
Wrap gifts for game winners and review instructions for games.
Clean house and party area.
Day Of The Event

Decorate
Buy any last minute items
Prepare area for gifts
Prepare table for the food
And most importantly ? HAVE FUN!
That's all there is to it! You are now ready to throw a memory-filled baby shower for a special mom-to-be.Copyright. All rights reserved..

The back-to-school shopping is done. Brand new pencils, colored markers, and notebooks fill my daughter's back pack. I've cleaned off the refrigerator in preparation for the new onslaught of pictures and class notices. School's started. She is excited to be back amongst her friends.

I find myself in the everyday routine of waking up in the dark, fixing breakfast and packing lunches. Even though my daughter is old enough to drive herself to school this year, I still rush out the door behind her dressed in sweat pants and no makeup. After a quick work out and a shower, my work day finally begins. It's good to be back in the routine. But, back-to-school is also time to recharge the parenting batteries.

The kids are gone until at least 3:00. The house is quiet. I actually get some work done for the first time in 3 months. I've signed up for an art class at the local university. I have time for lunch with my girlfriends.

This month, why not celebrate back-to-school by taking a few minutes for yourself? Put on your favorite CD and take a long leisurely, uninterrupted bath. Why not go for coffee with the girls or host a brunch for your neighborhood friends? Try something decadent, just for mom.

Building a dynamic small business is a constantly evolving, increasingly demanding role.It is very easy to get so caught up in the day to day running of our business that we neglect to take the time to look from the outside in to see what we could do to improve our profitability!Well here are 5 Strategies that could boost your productivity overnight! They are not rocket science?and you may have even heard some of them before, but they are 5 proven principles that you can review today to help you stay on track regarding the real issues to grow your business from here.So why don't you take 15 minutes?make yourself a coffee?and recharge your batteries!1. Define your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) in one sentenceWhat is at the heart of your business that makes it unique and attractive for your customers? Summarise your key selling points that make your product or service a ?must have' for your clients. You probably went through this exercise when you first started your business...but have you need to remind yourself regularly why you are doing what you are doing!New competitors may have emerged and you don't have that same uniqueness that you once had.Perhaps it's time to reinvent yourself and get that edge over the market once again!2. Identify Who Your Target Market IsWhen you first started your business, you knew exactly who your target market was. Is this market still the same, or have they grown up?or matured in their buying habits.

Has new technology overtaken your ideas? Just imagine if Video Rental Stores had stubbornly refused to rent DVDs because they were just a Video Store! Your market may have changed, and you may need to reassess who you are trying to reach.Your original target market have grown older since you began and if you are still promoting your products or service to this same group - their needs may be different!3. Would you like Fries with That?McDonalds have made an additional fortune by training every one of their sales force to ask one simple question with every order: ?Would you like fries with that?' I went to buy a tube to fix my daughter's bike puncture the other day, and instead of just selling me a new tube, the smart salesman in the Bike Shop enquired quite genuinely if I had the right tools to fix it. I didn't - but of course he did...so he cleverly added value to my shopping experience, and added extra profit to his bottom line. What service or product can you offer to people to make their original purchase with you even more worthwhile?4. Establish where your clients go before and after they visit you?If you can determine this, then you can add instant profits to your business.

Just imagine if you owned a Real Estate business. Wouldn't it make sense to have a Settlement Agent in house? And what about a Mortgage Broker? Or even a Removalist Company? Perhaps you could rent out a large Furniture Trailer with your company name emblazoned all over it! Ask yourself the same question and you can start incorporating other services that complement your existing business and watch the profits grow!5. Ask your existing customers for referralsIf you are providing an excellent product or service, then your biggest fans will be your existing customers. Why not offer them an incentive to put you in touch with people just like them who would also benefit from your services? It doesn't have to be anything really expensive?maybe even just a 10% discount off their next purchase from you. I referred some friends to a Mortgage Broker a few months ago?and had forgotten all about it?until last week I received 2 movie tickets in the mail thanking me for the gesture.

A $20 investment leaves a nice impression in my mind that will probably make me think of him again when my next friend asks me if I know of a good Mortgage Broker!Make sure you get Part Two of this article for another 5 Strategies to improve your small business success!.

Does the thought of buying a gift for a friend or relative make you smile or does it stress you out? Is there a hiker or camper on your gift giving list? What can you give to the someone who already has everything? The secret of gift giving is not always the "what." Many times the "why, when and how" make an ordinary gift the Perfect Gift. Continue reading to discover 5 sure-fire steps to giving the perfect gift to the outdoor enthusiasts in your life. Step 1: Do Your Homework. This is the toughest of the 5 steps. Doing your homework means thinking about your outdoor enthusiast and what he or she likes about being in the backcountry.

Are there any current or past outdoor interests? Perhaps he likes to fish or she likes to climb. Maybe you overheard the comment "I remember when I used to go camping every long weekend. I miss those days." Our personal shopper service receives hints like this all the time. Chances are you already know their interests, so take a few minutes to think prior to shopping. There are loads of great outdoor gifts available.

Another part of your homework is to understand the relationship between you and your gift recipient's outdoor hobbies. Last year I was camping with a dear friend who got mildly lost. After about an hour, he showed up in camp a little embarrassed ? but safe. So the perfect gift for him before our next trip was a GPS unit. I also included a hand written coupon good for one free lesson and an extra set of batteries.

The relationship we had allowed me to have a little fun with the gift giving. I did provide him with a quality gift and he uses it all the time. Step 2: Speaking of High Quality. The best way to get the most enjoyment out of our backcountry experiences is to have good gear. When giving a backcountry gift, be sure it's high quality.

There are two gear buying rules to live by. First, only give gear you would use. And secondly, buy the best gear you can afford. Nothing derails good times in the great outdoors like bad gear. Step 3: The Right Way to Give Certificates.

Gift certificates can be an excellent choice for a gift. Here's a great use of a gift certificate - I was fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of this story. A friend living across the country knew I loved to hike. He also knew from his own experience that you can't just buy a backpack for someone else. Backpacks are a very subjective purchase.

Instead of buying a me a pack and giving me the task of returning it in order to get the right one, he sent me a gift certificate AND he told me what to buy with it. So now I get the backpack I want and my friend has proven once again how well he knows me. I loved the gift. When giving gift certificates, tell the recipient what to buy with it. Step 4: Seek Out Customer Friendly Retailers.

This is especially important when purchasing a gift on-line. Make sure you are purchasing from a store with visible customer satisfaction and return policies. If your gift recipient needs to exchange or return a piece of gear, the process needs to be hassle-free. If the return procedure is clunky, the perfect gift just became imperfect. Step 5: Timing is Everything.

The best time to get "the birding binoculars I always wanted," is not on your birthday or at Christmas time. The best time to get them is just before you go birding. The new backpack is a more thoughtful gift just prior to hiking the Grand Canyon than it is for graduation. The value of a gift is greatly increased when given at the right time. Surprise someone with a perfectly timed present.

Giving the Perfect BackCountry Gift is easy to do. Determining "what" to give is important, but so is knowing "why, when and how" to give. Make your next gift giving experience a good one. The outdoor enthusiast in your life is counting on it. Use this information and you'll Get It Right The First Time.

Get Outdoors!.

For many of us summertime = vacation time. Some people will spend their days off at the local pool. Some may choose to sightsee in their own town. Many will leave behind the comforts of home for the open road. Regardless of the destination or mode of transportation, it is important to be organized for travel.A few benefits of being organized for travel:1.

Being organized will save you time.Having a copy of your packing list on the computer will cut down on the time used for re-creating it every time you travel.2. Being organized will save you money.Doing pre-travel shopping at home will save you big bucks (especially on film and batteries...) that might be otherwise be spent at a tourist trap.3. Being organized will save you stress. No need to stress while scrounging for your tickets and ID at the airport if all of your paperwork is organized in one place.Follow these organizing tips to keep your vacation a stress-free, time and money saving event:Plan ahead. Create a general itinerary before you travel. Grab pen and paper and jot down your travel times, hotel check-in/check-out times, and a list of activities/places you'd like to visit.

This will help you make sure you have allowed enough time to get to your destination, and whether or not you've scheduled too many activities for one day.* Stop by your local ?AAA' office for a Triptik and other travel-related services to help map out your route if driving.Create a checklist to help you pack. Keep it on the computer so you don't have to write it over every time you leave home. Use it as a template and update it before each trip to include anything new such as medications, toiletries, accessories, etc.Keep all information related to your trip in one place. Create a folder for papers such as reservations, confirmations, and tickets. When you look for the information you need before or during your trip, you'll have it all at your fingertips.Keep a toiletry bag packed with small sized travel sized-containers all year round.

By doing so, you're always ready for a long trip or an overnight stay. Take a quick inventory of its contents before you leave home?you might have run out of toothpaste on your last trip.*If your favorite products don't come in sample sizes, purchase small, travel sized containers and fill them with your favorite shampoo and creams. Label them clearly so you don't accidentally condition your hair with a facial moisturizer...Place items you'll need immediately at the top of your suitcase. Items such as comfortable shoes, pajamas, and toiletries are more easily accessible if they're closer to top. When you're tired from a long journey, the last thing you want to be doing is rummaging through your suitcase.Use suitcase organizers to separate outfits or types of clothing.

Products such as Pack-It Cubes or Ziploc bags do the job well. Hefty makes One-Zip 2.5 gallon bags (found in many supermarkets) that are large enough to organize clothes and later can be used to keep laundry or wet bathing suits away from the rest of your belongings.*Wearing your bulkiest pair of shoes while traveling will give you more space in your suitcase.Organize your wardrobe around one basic color such as black, navy, or brown to prevent overpacking. You'll be able to mix and match easily and you won't need to bring a ton of different shoes. Also, when packing--think about your vacation activities. Will they include hiking? Days at the beach? Having dinner with relatives? Think ahead and pack items you may need for those activities such as band-aids for hiking, aloe vera for sunburns, and the scarf Aunt Shirley gave you for your birthday if you'll be seeing her.Travel safely and have an organized trip!.
